Beechnuts

(Fagus sylvatica)

Expeller properties

The  triangular seed is expelled  including the seedcoat. Carefully remove any stones and other dirt before processing.  The seeds should be well dried after harvesting in a thin layer in a dry place for 2 weeks until about 8% moisture content. The angular seed easily results in bridge formation in the seed inlet funnel. Assist with a small stick the flow of the seeds.
