Piteba press on bicycle frame
If you want to facilitate oil pressing:
mount the Piteba press on a bicycle frame!
Some advantages:
- easier to turn expeller screw
- both hands free to fill the funnel
- sturdy and steady construction
How to construct it yourself:
(or have it made locally)
1.
Strip a bicycle frame
2.
Mount the frame on an old pallet or other wooden construction
(15 cm between paddles and pallet or floor)
3.
Remove the rear sprocket from the rear wheel
4.
Remove the sprocket from the pedal
5.
Weld the big sprocket on a 3 mm thick iron plate
6.
Drill a 14 mm hole exactly in the centre
7.
Weld the small (rear) sprocket on the pedal shaft
(first centre and secure it with bolt and nut before welding)
8.
Weld a small pipe on the plate
(the same size as on your crank shaft for manual use)
(make sure it is centred properly!)
9.
Mount the press on a board and make sure an metal strip just underneath the axle of the screw
(to avoid downwards bending: important !)
Make sure you oil it regularly.
10.
Mount board and press on the frame as far as possible to the handle bar.
(on the horizontal frame pipe).
11.
Fix the bicycle chain over the sprockets and check if it is in line with the frame.
You will need 2 chains and adjust the length.
12.
Tighten the chain by moving the board with press along the vertical frame pipe towards the handle bar.
13.
Secure the board on the vertical frame pipe, otherwise the chain will loosen.
14.
Ready for use
( on this picture the pvc-pipe serves as press cake collection)
